Hi, my name is Carmen Williamson. I was born and raised in Little Rock, AR. After graduating from Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School, I knew that I wanted to spread my wings and explore the world outside of Arkansas. I chose to attend Washington University in St. Louis where I double majored in Marketing and Human Resources. Not only did I spread my wings but I made sure that I was able to fly –abroad that is—to the University of Queensland in Australia for a semester. Once I returned back to the United States, I had one more semester before it was time to enter the “real world”. Due to the economy, it was very challenging to obtain a job offer in my desired fields. Therefore, I decided to step out of my field and accepted a position as an auto claims representative for a major insurance company. After two years I decided it was time to further pursue a career in marketing or supply chain management. I had an interest in the retail and consumer packaged goods industries, so the University of Arkansas turned out to be a perfect match. Being able to return to “Sweet Home Arkansas” has been amazing for me. Throughout this blog, I will share my Walton MBA experiences. I hope that you enjoy reading my blog!
